This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
β’ Oversee the technical execution of agentic engineering transformations at designated Vista portfolio companies, guiding efforts from initial assessment and proof of concept to implementation, scaling, and handoff.
β’ Evaluate engineering environments, assessing repository readiness, current AI usage, infrastructure deficiencies, and high-impact use cases.
β’ Collaborate directly with engineers from portfolio companies to develop and implement knowledge layers, agents, orchestration, evaluations, guardrails, and observability mechanisms.
β’ Identify and resolve technical issues across repositories, workflows, agent configurations, and evaluation frameworks.
β’ Create reusable reference architectures, agent libraries, technical standards, evaluation frameworks, and implementation patterns for the Vista portfolio.
β’ Implement controls for identity, permissions, evaluations, auditability, escalation processes, and human-in-the-loop decision-making.
β’ Assess AI platforms, models, development tools, and orchestration technologies while ensuring vendor neutrality.
β’ Collaborate with portfolio company CTOs and engineering leaders to build sustainable internal capabilities and operational frameworks.
β’ Empower Vista teams and portfolio company engineers to utilize the Agentic Engineering Factory framework.
β’ Define technical standards and acceptance criteria for external system integrators and delivery partners.
β’ Over 12 years of experience in production software engineering, including roles such as Principal Engineer, Distinguished Engineer, Senior Architect, or similar positions.
β’ Proven architecture ownership across multiple engineering teams or business units, with a history of establishing technical standards at an enterprise scale.
β’ Demonstrated success in leading multi-quarter technical implementations and delivering production systems within intricate organizations.
β’ At least 2 years of hands-on experience with frontier AI development tools like Claude Code, Cursor, Codex, or similar technologies in production settings.
β’ Experience in constructing production agentic systems, incorporating orchestration, tool usage, memory, evaluation frameworks, and human-in-the-loop design principles.
β’ Extensive experience with brownfield enterprise environments, including legacy codebases, monoliths, multi-repository contexts, and complex compliance mandates.
β’ Strong expertise in cloud infrastructure across AWS, Azure, and/or GCP, including CI/CD, containerization, observability, and security measures.
β’ Capacity to develop reusable platforms, frameworks, standards, or internal products that are adopted beyond your immediate team.
β’ Proficient communication skills for engaging with both highly technical audiences and senior executives.
β’ Willingness to travel up to 50% of the time.
β’ Preferred experience includes developer productivity measurement, working with system integrators, consulting, private equity operating environments, or large-scale organizational transformations.
