Principal AI Engineer

📋 Description

• Conduct and implement advanced research in artificial intelligence and natural language processing to address practical challenges.

• Design and develop systems that integrate symbolic and numerical/data-driven methodologies.

• Provide technical guidance in merging research with the production of innovative AI agents.

• Collaborate with project leaders across various functional areas to grasp the product vision.

• Convert customer needs into technical objectives.

• Determine the appropriate times to launch commercial solutions, tailor open-source options, or commence new applied science research based on product requirements.

• Lead by example, enhancing team capabilities through coaching and mentorship.

• Establish and uphold technical best practices.

• Promote a culture of high trust and high-performance collaboration.

• Facilitate communication among cross-functional teams.

• Ensure that architectural decisions are thoroughly documented throughout the planning and implementation phases.

⛳️ Requirements

• A graduate degree in Data Science, Computer Science, or a related discipline, or equivalent extensive technical experience.

• Demonstrated experience as an AI Engineer or Applied Research Engineer in a dynamic environment.

• Experience in complex multidisciplinary sectors such as robotics, smart grids, precision agriculture, game development, or aerospace is highly regarded.

• Proficiency in Git and the Unix shell.

• Capability to work with multiple programming languages, preferably including Python, C++, or C#.

• Comprehensive understanding of integrating AI agents into production software, encompassing API design, message brokers, containerization, and resource budgeting.

• Experience in constructing and troubleshooting stochastic AI systems, including symbolic AI, procedural generative models, logic programming, and natural language processing.

• Strong mathematical foundation in logic, linear algebra, probability, and statistics.

• Experience adjacent to machine learning that is sufficient to comprehend model constraints, data requirements, and current advancements.

• Preferred experience with modern C++.

• Ability to collaborate effectively and work closely with a founding team.

• Exceptional attention to detail and capability to meet critical R&D milestones.

• High attention to detail concerning system stability and interoperability.
