Principal AI Engineer – AI Tutor

📋 Description

• Develop and enhance the foundational AI tutoring system, which includes prompt architectures, agentic workflows, and real-time adaptive functionalities.

• Conduct thorough experimentation and evaluation, creating custom metrics and frameworks to assess learning effectiveness and enhance model reliability.

• Design and execute scalable, maintainable software that integrates AI capabilities with platform systems, content pipelines, and user experience elements.

• Collaborate across various functions with educators, content creators, and product teams to convert pedagogical objectives into technical solutions.

• Prototype and implement innovative model interactions utilizing cutting-edge research and capabilities.

• Ensure quality, safety, and observability through continuous monitoring, testing, guardrails, and iterative refinement of model behavior.

• Share expertise and elevate team members, contributing to clarity, simplicity, and ongoing learning.

⛳️ Requirements

• Over 1 year of experience in building complex LLM-based systems.

• Strong intuition for prompt engineering.

• Experience in designing agentic workflows.

• Capability to create meaningful evaluation methods, including custom metrics and frameworks.

• Solid understanding of software engineering principles and architectural design.

• Proficiency in Python.

• Comfortable working with production infrastructure, cloud environments, and CI/CD processes.

• Actively engages with AI research and emerging technologies.

• Strong empathy for learners and content creators.

• Ability to translate pedagogical objectives into system behaviors and product decisions.

• Capacity to think holistically about AI behavior, content structure, platform features, and user experience.

• Familiarity with learning science or a desire to gain expertise in the field.
