Principal AI Engineer – AI Tutor

📋 Description

• Develop and enhance the foundational AI tutoring system, which includes prompt architectures, agentic workflows, and adaptive real-time behaviors.

• Conduct thorough experimentation and assessments, creating tailored metrics and frameworks to evaluate learning efficacy and enhance model dependability.

• Design and execute scalable and maintainable software that integrates AI functionalities with platform systems, content pipelines, and components of user experience.

• Work collaboratively across various teams, including educators, content developers, and product teams, to transform pedagogical objectives into technical solutions.

• Prototype and launch innovative model interactions utilizing cutting-edge research and capabilities.

• Maintain quality, safety, and observability through comprehensive monitoring, testing, safety measures, and iterative refinement of model performance.

• Share expertise and uplift team members, fostering a culture of clarity, simplicity, and ongoing learning.

⛳️ Requirements

• Over 1 year of experience in developing complex LLM-based systems.

• Strong intuition in prompt engineering.

• Experience in designing agentic workflows.

• Capability to create meaningful evaluation methods, including tailored metrics and frameworks.

• Solid foundation in software engineering and architectural thinking.

• Proficiency in Python.

• Comfortable with production infrastructure, cloud environments, and CI/CD practices.

• Actively engages with AI research and emerging technologies.

• Strong empathy for learners and content developers.

• Ability to convert pedagogical aims into system functionality and product decisions.

• Capability to reason across AI behavior, content organization, platform features, and user experience.

• Familiarity with learning science or a desire to gain expertise in this area.
