Principal AI Engineer – AI Tutor

📋 Description

• Develop and enhance the foundational AI tutoring system, focusing on prompt architectures, agentic workflows, and real-time adaptive behaviors.

• Conduct thorough experimentation and evaluation, creating custom metrics and frameworks to assess learning effectiveness and enhance model reliability.

• Design and implement scalable, maintainable software that integrates AI capabilities with platform systems, content pipelines, and user experience elements.

• Collaborate across various departments with educators, content creators, and product teams to convert pedagogical objectives into technical solutions.

• Prototype and deploy innovative model interactions leveraging the latest research and technological advancements.

• Ensure quality, safety, and observability by monitoring, testing, and developing guardrails, along with iterative refinement of model behavior.

• Share expertise and uplift team members, fostering clarity, simplicity, and a culture of continuous learning.

⛳️ Requirements

• Over 1 year of experience in developing complex LLM-based systems.

• Strong intuition in prompt engineering.

• Experience in designing agentic workflows.

• Capability to design meaningful evaluation methodologies, including custom metrics and frameworks.

• Solid foundation in software engineering and architectural design.

• Proficiency in Python.

• Comfortable working within production environments, cloud infrastructures, and CI/CD processes.

• Actively engages with AI research and emerging technologies.

• Empathetic towards learners and content creators.

• Ability to translate pedagogical goals into system behavior and product decisions.

• Skill in reasoning across AI behavior, content structure, platform features, and user experience.

• Familiarity with learning science or a desire to gain expertise in this area.
