Prescription Prior Authorization Specialist

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Utilize and understand eClinicalWorks, encompassing telephone encounters, chart notes, and provider directives.

• Confirm insurance coverage and prescription formularies to facilitate prescription payment.

• Submit prior authorizations to insurance providers through phone, fax, and electronic systems.

• Handle incoming calls, addressing patient inquiries and concerns regarding authorization status and procedures.

• Maintain precise documentation of authorizations and prior approvals.

• Collaborate directly with insurance companies, pharmacies, and providers to resolve authorization challenges.

• Monitor and track established patient prescription authorizations.

• Work closely with providers, Ideal Option staff, and pharmacies to ensure optimal patient care.

• Represent Ideal Option in a professional manner and with a positive demeanor.

• Adhere to national PHI regulations, including HIPAA and 42 CFR Part 2.

• Perform additional duties as assigned by the supervisor.

• High School Diploma or GED.

• Proficiency in using personal computers (word processing and/or electronic spreadsheets).

• Ideally, one year or more of office experience.

• Strong verbal and written communication abilities.

• Competency in Excel.

• Capability to multitask, learn swiftly, and thrive in a fast-paced environment.

• Understanding of chemical dependency and its impact on individuals, families, and communities is essential.

• Adherence to national PHI regulations, including HIPAA and 42 CFR Part 2.
