This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Chile, +6 more countries.
• Engage with medical providers to verify balances and billing details.
• Determine health insurance information and identify subrogation contacts.
• Retrieve any missing insurance cards from clients.
• Reconfirm provider balances when verification time exceeds 30 days.
• Reach out to clients to verify addresses for escrow disbursements or office pickups.
• Organize incoming correspondence by tagging it into case files.
• Identify any missing bills and inform paralegals when documents are required.
• Confirm payment addresses for both providers and insurance carriers.
• Cross-check bills against case documents and value screens for accuracy.
• Request and monitor reductions while uploading related documentation.
• Assist in preparing settlement statements and ensuring current balances.
• Disburse checks and scan copies into the system for records.
• Review notes from previous file handlers to ensure case accuracy.
• Follow up on escrow items and confirm final payments or remaining balances.
• Open liens and aid in lien-related documentation tasks.
• Provide support to pre-litigation paralegals and attorneys with daily case documentation requirements.
• Send medical and billing authorizations to providers and collection agencies.
• Monitor response timelines and follow up on any delayed responses.
• Locate account numbers and verify service dates along with billed amounts.
• Ensure bills and payments are accurately represented in value screens.
• Calculate health insurance payments and assist in lien dispute processes.
• Verify advance costs and value screen subtotals against accounting records.
• Carry out additional tasks assigned to support the pre-litigation team.
• At least 1 year of experience as a legal assistant, in a legal support role, or a related Bachelor's degree in legal studies.
• Previous experience in personal injury or pre-litigation settings is preferred.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.
• Familiarity with case management systems.
• Experience with PDF and document management tools.
• Competence in using email and calendar systems.
• Strong attention to detail and precision in file management.
• Excellent organizational and documentation abilities.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to persistently follow up with providers and third parties.
• Capacity to manage multiple tasks and deadlines concurrently.
• Comfort with handling tasks that require repetitive follow-ups.
• Ability to collaborate effectively with paralegals and attorneys.
• Proficiency in both English and Spanish.
• Availability to work from 8:30 AM to 5:30 PM EST/EDT.
