Pre Access Specialist

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Kentucky.

📋 Description

• Oversee patient orders received from physician offices as well as internal ancillary departments.

• Ensure proper distribution of orders to the relevant servicing departments.

• Conduct a thorough review of 100% of scheduled procedure orders for physician signature, test/procedure details, date, and diagnosis accuracy.

• Reach out to physician offices to clarify orders when necessary and index orders to patient accounts.

• Manage orders received via fax, physician EMR, or other sources and accurately scan them into electronic medical records.

• Respond to external and internal phone calls in a professional manner.

• Check and reply to emails promptly and professionally.

• Achieve or exceed productivity standards while completing daily tasks accurately.

• Be knowledgeable about procedure preparation times, locations, performing physicians, and any special instructions.

• Deliver outstanding customer service to both internal and external clients using the ADIET method.

• Keep a well-organized and efficient workspace.

• Transmit patient documents swiftly and accurately.

• Uphold job knowledge, professional behavior, confidentiality, and compliance with company policies and HIPAA regulations.

• Execute additional duties as assigned.


⛳️ Requirements

• High School Diploma or equivalent is required.

• Proficiency in PC usage.

• Must be capable of typing 30 words per minute with 95% accuracy.

• A minimum of one year of experience in patient access is preferred.

• Familiarity with medical terminology is preferred.

• Must be able to communicate effectively in both verbal and written forms.

• Proficient in EMR and Microsoft Office Suite.

• Capable of utilizing appropriate computer systems for ICD-10 code lookups.

• Ability to comprehend instructions and the underlying principles.

• Capacity to reason and make sound judgments.

• Must maintain confidentiality and adhere to HIPAA privacy and security regulations.
