
Practice Marketing Director – Healthcare

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in North Carolina.
• Propel the growth of McMillan Pazdan Smith’s Healthcare division.
• Spearhead pursuit strategies and execution across all locations for the Healthcare division.
• Create and document winning strategies for key pursuits, incorporating win themes, message hierarchy, differentiators, proof points, and narrative arcs across RFQ, RFP, and interviews.
• Assemble and lead Healthcare pursuit teams, conduct strategy sessions, establish schedules, assign responsibilities, and drive decision-making.
• Make determinations on pursuit content, structure, and focus; resolve conflicting inputs.
• Guide the graphic design approach for key pursuits and oversee designers.
• Lead interview preparation alongside the Healthcare BD leader, including presentations, message discipline, team composition, coaching, rehearsals, and anticipating Q&A.
• Conduct win/loss debriefs and integrate findings into practice strategy and positioning.
• Supervise healthcare marketers in producing practice pursuits; set priorities, manage workload, and mentor team members.
• Oversee QA/QC for healthcare pursuit deliverables.
• Establish and uphold pursuit standards, playbooks, and templates; drive ongoing improvement.
• Enhance team capabilities in strategic writing and narrative development.
• Monitor and report pursuit metrics, including shortlist rates, interview-to-win conversions, and win rates.
• Collaborate with practice and BD leadership on go/no-go discipline and bid criteria.
• Analyze losses and translate insights into adjustments in positioning, teaming, and processes.
• Assist in healthcare strategic planning and market analysis.
• Drive the Healthcare brand strategy across various sectors and markets.
• Stay updated on healthcare market trends and client priorities.
• Ensure competitor profiles are up-to-date and brief leadership on market conditions and positioning.
• Support client feedback initiatives, surveys, and debriefs.
• Guarantee that project profiles, staff resumes, and reference data are current and pursuit-ready.
• Develop outcome-focused case studies and address gaps in the proof library.
• Provide insights on the Healthcare market to marketing communications regarding PR, social media, thought leadership, and collateral materials.
• Collaborate on photography priorities, project narratives, and award submissions.
• Partner with business development for client capture planning and prepositioning.
• Perform other related duties as assigned.
• Bachelor's degree in marketing, communications, journalism, English, or a related field.
• 12+ years of experience in professional services marketing.
• Significant experience in Healthcare design or construction pursuits.
• Proven track record of leading successful pursuits for major health capital projects.
• Experience in managing and developing marketing staff.
• Strategic thinker with a collaborative, results-driven approach.
• Strong business acumen and analytical skills.
• Exceptional attention to detail, accuracy, and follow-through.
• Outstanding writing and editing skills; able to construct compelling arguments rather than just compiling content.
• Proficiency in InDesign.
• Capability to direct designers effectively.
• Proficient in CRM systems.
