This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in New York.
• Take full ownership of the Growth practice from start to finish, including its commercial model, integrated delivery teams, and key client relationships.
• Foster business development through networking, referrals, strategic alliances, and direct outreach initiatives.
• Create a go-to-market strategy specifically for Growth-stage Consumer companies.
• Establish relationships with private equity firms, investors, and advisors to generate referrals.
• Manage practice revenue, profit margins, utilization rates, and overall profitability.
• Assemble, lead, and nurture teams of Controllers and CFOs.
• Position individuals in roles that amplify their strengths.
• Define service standards and ensure teams are held accountable for client satisfaction, quality of deliverables, and the profitability of engagements.
• Conduct portfolio evaluations and enhance capacity through hiring and development initiatives.
• Act as the executive sponsor and primary escalation point for significant accounts.
• Provide advisory support to Growth-stage Consumer operators at the CFO level.
• Sustain strategic relationships with complex clients.
• Engage in board meetings and discussions with investors.
• Convert financial data into strategic insights and communicate challenging messages effectively.
• Make decisions regarding pricing, resource distribution, and the scope of engagements.
• Utilize PropellerOS to deliver insights across multiple clients and formalize effective practices for Growth-stage companies.
• Continuously enhance the quality, efficiency, and impact of service delivery across the practice.
• Proven success in business development, including the identification, cultivation, and closure of client relationships in collaboration with the GoToMarket team.
• Over 15 years of experience in finance/accounting.
• At least 7 years in CFO or senior financial leadership positions.
• Direct experience in scaling businesses from $30M to over $300M in revenue, ideally in roles such as CFO or VP Finance.
• Demonstrated fluency in AI and current applications of AI in finance workflows.
• A history of leading and developing teams, including overseeing managers.
• A background in multi-client or consulting environments is highly preferred, such as in Big 4 firms, boutique advisory, or private equity portfolios.
• Strong executive presence and comfort in presenting to boards, private equity sponsors, and sophisticated stakeholders.
• Experience in constructing scalable financial infrastructures, encompassing ERP transitions, reporting systems, and planning processes.
• Knowledge of Consumer business economics, including channels, metrics, seasonal trends, retail relationships, and brand dynamics.
• In-depth expertise in at least one area of DTC/e-commerce, CPG, or omnichannel retail.
• Familiarity with essential processes and systems such as inventory management, trade spending, QuickBooks, and NetSuite.
• A background in Business Services alongside Consumer experience is advantageous.
