PR Consultant

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in New York.

📋 Description

• Achieve one significant earned-media placement each month related to the brand narrative, founder, or flagship product.

• Dispatch five tailored pitches weekly to a selected media list.

• Oversee weekly product sampling and mailing to journalists, podcast hosts, and influential media personalities.

• Develop and sustain an editorial calendar focused on seasonal wellness events.

• Cultivate and enhance relationships with tier-1 and tier-2 wellness, lifestyle, and beauty journalists.

• Identify opportunities for founder bylines, award nominations, and inclusion in “best of” lists.

• Provide monthly reports on placements, impressions/UVM, sentiment analysis, and share of voice in comparison to competitors.

• Highlight any coverage or quotes that may contain disease-claim language prior to publication.

• Report on unsuccessful pitches, including those sent, response rates, and reasons for declines.

• Compile each placement with a pull quote, logo asset, and link for the content team within 48 hours.

⛳️ Requirements

• 3–5+ years of experience in consumer PR with a demonstrated portfolio of earned media.

• Preferably experience in wellness, beauty, CPG, or dietary supplements.

• Established and active connections with tier-1 and tier-2 wellness, lifestyle, and beauty journalists, as well as podcast hosts and award cycles.

• Proficient in creating personalized pitches, planning editorial calendars, and developing founder bylines.

• Familiarity with FDA/DSHEA structure-function claim regulations.

• Capability to identify disease-claim risks in coverage before publication.

• Opportunity for remote work; candidates based in LA or NYC, or those with strong media connections in LA/NYC, are preferred.
