This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Assist in the planning and implementation of digital PR campaigns aimed at enhancing media coverage, referral traffic, social interaction, and brand visibility for ConsumerAffairs.
• Remain updated on trends in news, pop culture, and digital marketing to inspire timely and relevant campaign concepts.
• Craft engaging and customized pitches that capture the interest of journalists and facilitate high-quality media coverage across both major and niche outlets.
• Develop and uphold relationships with media contacts, including journalists, editors, and influencers, while ensuring outreach remains organized and current.
• Aid in the preparation for media interviews for TV, radio, and digital platforms, including creating briefing materials, talking points, and coordinating with internal teams.
• Observe competitor actions and identify relevant trends, media opportunities, and industry developments for the wider team.
• Work collaboratively across teams to brainstorm innovative content ideas and support initiatives that enhance ConsumerAffairs' authority and visibility.
• Bachelor’s degree in public relations, journalism, marketing, communications, or a related field.
• 0-2 years of practical experience in digital PR, media relations, content marketing, SEO, or a similar area is beneficial. Internships, academic projects, freelance work, or relevant coursework are all encouraged.
• Basic understanding of SEO principles, including the role of content, backlinks, and authority in driving organic growth.
• Excellent writing and communication skills, with a creative flair for developing compelling pitches and campaign messaging.
• Capable of self-editing for spelling, grammar, clarity, and accuracy before finalizing work.
• Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills, capable of managing multiple tasks and deadlines in a dynamic environment.
• Comfortable working with basic data and eager to learn how to measure and report on campaign outcomes.
• Self-driven, inquisitive, and receptive to feedback, with a strong desire to advance in a digital PR role.
• Experience with media outreach or PR tools such as Muck Rack, BuzzStream, Prowly, or Cision through internships, projects, or training.
• Introductory familiarity with SEO or research tools like Ahrefs, SEMrush, Moz, or Google Search Console.
• Proficient in using AI-powered tools to assist in research, ideation, personalization, and efficiency while applying human judgment, accuracy checks, and editorial standards.
• Knowledge of AP Style and the capability to produce accurate, polished copy for outreach efforts.
• Comfortable utilizing spreadsheets (Excel or Google Sheets) to organize data and track outreach; familiarity with basic formulas, sorting, and filtering is advantageous but not mandatory.
• Acquainted with Google Workspace and collaboration tools such as Slack, Airtable, or Trello.
