This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Colorado, +2 more states.
• Assist in strategizing and assessing utility-scale clean energy and power infrastructure initiatives for data centers and digital infrastructure.
• Identify and evaluate early-stage projects regarding site feasibility, interconnection access, and project economics utilizing financial modeling, spatial GIS analysis, and AI optimization tools.
• Analyze and screen greenfield site opportunities within targeted U.S. ISO/RTO markets.
• Examine regional grid capacity, transmission limitations, and market dynamics to develop market-entry strategies.
• Assess federal and county zoning, land-use, and permitting requirements to confirm project feasibility and reduce development risks.
• Support wind, solar, BESS, thermal, and load projects from strategic planning to construction commencement.
• Oversee daily project budgets, timelines, and development resources.
• Create updates and presentations for senior leadership and investment committees.
• Develop and maintain financial and valuation models to assess project economics and interconnection cost profiles.
• Conduct accounting reconciliations across multiple departmental budgets.
• Identify risks and opportunities, framing trade-offs for stakeholders.
• Collaborate with Engineering, Finance, and Permitting to establish cohesive project strategies.
• Guide projects from initial conception through to construction.
• Assist in negotiations and foster relationships with utilities, land agents, and legal counsel.
• A Bachelor's degree in Energy Resources, Finance, Business, Engineering, or a related field.
• Over 3 years of experience in clean energy development, power origination, or utility-scale energy infrastructure planning.
• Proficiency in building and maintaining financial or project models using Excel and Google Sheets.
• Interest in utilizing AI optimization tools to enhance workflow efficiency.
• Practical experience with ISO/RTO interconnection processes.
• Background in accounting reconciliation.
• Familiarity with ArcGIS Online and federal/county regulatory databases.
• Strategic and analytical approach to problem-solving.
