Power BI Developer/Data Analyst

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Arizona.

📋 Description

• Organize data and create comprehensive reporting systems

• Design sophisticated Power BI reports and dashboards

• Create intricate dimensional data models and semantic frameworks

• Enhance the performance of extensive datasets and reports

• Develop tailored visuals and implement advanced formatting techniques

• Extract, transform, and query data utilizing SQL

• Generate calculated columns, measures, and time intelligence using DAX

• Manipulate data through M language and Power Query

• Convert business needs into technical implementations

• Collect requirements and oversee stakeholder interactions

• Design and maintain C# and ASP.NET Core microservices

• Create asynchronous applications and RESTful APIs leveraging ORM frameworks

• Design Microsoft SQL Server databases, along with stored procedures, indexes, schemas, and migrations

• Utilize Docker and Kubernetes for containerization and orchestration

• Configure and uphold CI/CD pipelines using GitHub Actions

• Support live applications, analyze logs, troubleshoot issues, and mitigate runtime performance bottlenecks

• Develop or sustain user-facing interfaces with modern JavaScript and React

• Document APIs using OpenAPI/Swagger and create automated unit/integration tests

• Operate in a dynamic, high-volume documentation setting

• At least five (5) years of relevant work experience

• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal

• Strong analytical and planning abilities

• Quick learner capable of performing under pressure in a fast-paced environment

• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, with strong expertise in Access, Excel, and Power BI

• Basic knowledge of project scheduling software such as Primavera P6

• Proactive self-starter; devises solutions and alternatives; anticipates needs and acts based on facts

• Successfully manages conflicts

• Exceptional organizational and time management skills

• Advanced experience in Power BI report and dashboard development (3+ years)

• Expertise in complex dimensional data modeling and semantic model design

• Skilled in optimizing performance for large datasets and reports

• Proficiency in developing custom visuals and advanced formatting

• Expert-level SQL skills for data extraction, transformation, and intricate queries

• Advanced knowledge of DAX (Data Analysis Expressions) for calculated columns, measures, and time intelligence

• Proficiency in M language for data transformation in Power Query

• Proven capability to translate business requirements into technical solutions

• Experience in managing stakeholders and gathering requirements

• Demonstrated experience in developing and maintaining microservices using C# and ASP.NET Core, including asynchronous programming, RESTful API design, and ORM frameworks (Entity Framework / EF Core)

• Strong expertise in Microsoft SQL Server, including complex query writing, stored procedure creation and optimization, index tuning, and schema design/migrations management

• Solid foundational understanding of containerization concepts with Docker, along with practical experience or familiarity with Kubernetes deployment, pod management, and service configurations

• Hands-on experience in configuring and maintaining automated CI/CD pipelines using GitHub Actions

• Strong diagnostic and debugging abilities to support production environments, analyze logs, and address runtime performance issues across microservice architectures

• Familiarity with the Microsoft Power Platform suite (Power Apps, Power Automate), UI/UX development, cloud data platforms, project management, modern JavaScript (ES6+), React, OpenAPI/Swagger, and automated unit/integration testing (e.g., xUnit, NUnit, Postman)
