Platform Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Germany.

📋 Description

• Create and manage platforms for scalable APIs that support product and engineering teams.

• Automate and standardize infrastructure, deployment, and operational procedures.

• Design, implement, and enhance cloud-native platform solutions.

• Develop and maintain CI/CD pipelines and GitOps workflows.

• Create platform tools, internal services, and APIs using Go, Python, or Rust.

• Take ownership of the ongoing development of API infrastructure, including API gateways, authentication, and authorization.

• Ensure the reliability, performance, and scalability of the platform through monitoring, logging, tracing, and optimization.

• Work in collaboration with engineering teams to enhance the developer experience with standardized platform services and self-service options.

• Advocate for modern security practices including Zero Trust, secrets management, and network segmentation.

⛳️ Requirements

• Experience in building and operating production-grade cloud and container platforms, preferably with Kubernetes and Docker.

• Expertise in Infrastructure as Code, ideally using Terraform.

• Ability to work comfortably within modern cloud environments.

• Familiarity with API gateways and API standards and technologies such as REST, gRPC, GraphQL, and OpenAPI.

• Knowledge of OAuth2, OIDC, JWT, and mTLS.

• Experience in creating and managing CI/CD pipelines and automation solutions with GitHub Actions, GitLab CI, or ArgoCD.

• Proficiency in at least one backend programming language: Go, Python, or Rust.

• Experience with observability, monitoring, logging, and tracing tools like Prometheus, Grafana, and OpenTelemetry.

• Practical understanding of Site Reliability Engineering, availability, incident management, scalability, and performance optimization.

• Strong grasp of networking, load balancing, DNS, and contemporary security architectures.
