Platform Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Spain, +3 more states.

📋 Description

• Manage and enhance AWS infrastructure encompassing networking, compute, storage, databases, and security.

• Create and sustain Terraform codebases for infrastructure provisioning and lifecycle management.

• Oversee and advance EKS clusters, including node pools, scaling, upgrades, ingress, and RBAC.

• Handle Aurora PostgreSQL and RDS relational database services, focusing on performance, availability, backups, and disaster recovery.

• Maintain and expand the observability infrastructure using Prometheus, Grafana, and ELK/OpenSearch.

• Engage in on-call rotations, address incidents, and lead root-cause analysis efforts.

• Work collaboratively with development teams on service onboarding, resource provisioning, and troubleshooting.

• Automate operational processes through scripting and CI/CD pipelines.

• Enhance security measures through patching, access control, WAF management, and network policies.

• Plan and devise strategies for responding to failure scenarios, disaster recovery, and business continuity.

• Be part of a small, self-sufficient Infrastructure Team that supports the Car Rental Platform.

⛳️ Requirements

• Extensive experience in infrastructure, platform engineering, SRE, or DevOps positions.

• Strong hands-on operational expertise with AWS services.

• Proficiency in Terraform for managing infrastructure at scale.

• Experience in managing Kubernetes clusters in a production environment.

• Familiarity with relational databases, preferably PostgreSQL, including administration, performance evaluation, and backup/recovery procedures.

• Understanding of networking, security, operating systems, web services, and databases.

• Scripting skills in Bash, Python, or a similar language.

• Excellent communication abilities and capacity to work effectively in a fully remote, cross-functional team.

• Capability to work autonomously and in a self-directed manner.

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent professional experience.
