This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Develop and manage a portfolio of new and existing donors and prospects capable of making planned gifts.
• Facilitate both virtual and in-person donor qualification, cultivation, solicitation, and stewardship.
• Formulate multi-year donor strategies and timelines that lead to documented legacy commitments.
• Achieve or surpass individual and team revenue goals related to planned gifts and pipeline metrics.
• Identify, cultivate, and secure bequests, charitable gift annuities, charitable remainder trusts, endowments, and other asset-based gifts.
• Create tailored legacy strategies that align with donors' philanthropic, financial, and estate-planning objectives.
• Provide guidance to donors regarding planned-gift benefits.
• Conduct estate-planning and family discussions rooted in values.
• Collaborate with attorneys, financial planners, accountants, and other professional advisors of donors.
• Identify and evaluate new planned-gift prospects through networking, prospect development, and research.
• Suggest engagement by senior staff and organizational leaders when deemed appropriate.
• Collaborate with Major Gift Advisors and other teams at ABS.
• Represent the American Bible Society publicly to inspire legacy generosity and advocate for planned gifts.
• Record donor communications and interactions in Salesforce within one week.
• Keep opportunities updated for precise forecasting and follow up on caseload gifts.
• Meet monthly targets for donor contacts and proposal activities.
• Follow up on high-priority gift opportunities and qualified leads within two weeks.
• Participate in training and uphold a professional development plan.
• Stay informed about ABS ministries, projects, and major donor proposals.
• Exhibit a personal commitment to Jesus Christ.
• Be affiliated with and actively participate in a Christian church, seeking to deepen your Christian faith.
• Engage in organizational prayer, devotional activities, organization-wide events, and regular spiritually focused work activities.
• Uphold exemplary Christian ethics, behavior, and conduct.
• Support the organization’s biblical and religious objectives.
• Hold a Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university, preferably in a related field.
• Have a minimum of five years of experience in relationship fundraising, planned giving, charitable gift planning, or estate planning.
• Demonstrate a clear track record of success in a complex, mission-driven organization.
• Show proven success in cultivating and securing planned or deferred gifts, or possess transferable experience in financial planning, estate planning, or complex gift strategy development.
• Have a working knowledge of planned-giving vehicles, non-cash gifts, and tax, financial, and estate-planning principles.
• Experience with a donor CRM is required; familiarity with Salesforce is preferred.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
• A valid driver's license is mandatory.
• Willingness to travel 40–60%, including regional travel within the West and Southwest United States.
• Flexibility to work varied hours, including occasional evenings or weekends.
• Capability to lift and carry up to 10 pounds on occasion.
• Must pass a background check and provide satisfactory references.
• Must demonstrate proof of eligibility to work in the United States.
