Pilot Operator

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Massachusetts.

📋 Description

• Utilize CRT, keyboard, and Voice Communication System (VCS) to replicate pilot actions and communication from remote ATC facilities during both medium- and high-fidelity training exercises.

• Receive and interpret voice commands from students.

• Make accurate entries into the automated system to emulate pilot actions.

• Convert displayed information into the correct ATC terminology.

• Communicate with students via VCS using appropriate phraseology.

• Complete necessary laboratory certification and training for supported control positions.

⛳️ Requirements

• No prior aviation experience is mandatory; however, having some aviation background is advantageous.

• Experience as a computer operator, RPO, air traffic control specialist, or (student) pilot is highly preferred.

• Coursework in aviation studies, terminal radar lab or en route lab certification, or a solid understanding of FAAO JO 7110.65 is preferred.

• High school diploma or equivalent qualification is required.

• A minimum of one year of experience in a similar role is necessary.

• Keyboard proficiency of at least 40 words per minute with 90% accuracy is required.

• Capability to read and interpret diagrams and manuals is essential.

• Clear speaking ability with good comprehension is necessary.

• Familiarity with the MS Office Suite is advantageous.

• Basic knowledge of tablets, notebooks, applications, and contemporary technology is a plus.

• Experience in a multidisciplinary team setting is preferred.

• Subject to FAA security screening.

• Must successfully complete knowledge and skills assessments for each supported area/sector.

• A minimum passing score of 70% is required on each knowledge test.

• Must observe a certified RPO, FAA employee, or contractor instructor during at least five simulation scenarios.

• Completion of on-the-job training on a minimum of five and a maximum of twenty simulation scenarios for each supported control position is mandatory.

• Attainment of simulation laboratory certification within 120 days of starting the position is required.
