Physician – Virtual Primary Care

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in California, +2 more states.

📋 Description

• Provide exceptional, patient-focused, virtual-first primary care to individuals throughout the United States via video consultations, live chat, and secure messaging.

• Commit to a minimum of 36 patient contact hours weekly for primary care patients.

• Conduct thorough virtual evaluations, diagnoses, and evidence-based treatment planning.

• Oversee and coordinate care for chronic health conditions.

• Deliver preventive care, wellness counseling, and health education.

• Order and interpret diagnostic tests and laboratory results.

• Prescribe medications in compliance with state and federal regulations.

• Manage referrals and prior authorizations.

• Oversee scheduling and follow-up communications.

• Document tasks and interactions within the electronic medical record (EMR).

• Complete compliance, continuing medical education (CME), and licensing requirements.

• Keep clinical knowledge and processes current, including updates to the EMR platform.

• Engage in clinical quality and process enhancement initiatives.

• Achieve or surpass performance benchmarks for patient satisfaction, encounter documentation, response times, clinical quality metrics, and productivity.

• Act as a collaborating physician for assigned Nurse Practitioners through oversight, chart reviews, care consultations, mentorship, and necessary video visits.

• Adhere to HIPAA regulations and maintain confidentiality standards.

• Undertake additional responsibilities as assigned.

⛳️ Requirements

• An MD or DO degree from an accredited medical institution.

• A valid, unrestricted medical license with active board certification in Family Medicine or Internal Medicine.

• A minimum of 5 years of clinical practice experience following residency.

• Active medical licenses in at least one of the following states: CA, TX, or FL, plus 5 additional state licenses.

• Strongly preferred eligibility for expedited licensure via the Interstate Medical Licensure Compact (IMLC) in 5 additional states.

• Willingness to obtain additional state licenses as necessary.

• Availability to work weekends and designated holidays as part of the regular schedule.

• Solid understanding of regulatory and documentation requirements pertaining to physician collaboration and supervision of Advanced Practice Providers.

• Capability to work autonomously while handling a high volume of patient interactions via video and chat.

• Proficient in navigating telehealth platforms and EMR systems, with adaptability to advancing technologies including AI-driven tools and digital platforms.

• Strong organizational skills and meticulous attention to detail, with effective time management skills in a remote work setting.

• Reliable high-speed internet connection is required.
