This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Kentucky.
• Establish and nurture strategic partnerships with pharmaceutical manufacturers and their representatives.
• Seek out inclusion opportunities within limited distribution drug networks.
• Organize business review sessions and strategic planning meetings with manufacturers.
• Keep track of manufacturer network requirements and performance expectations.
• Collaborate with specialty pharmacy leadership on contracting opportunities with manufacturers.
• Assist in the onboarding and implementation of new specialty drug programs.
• Act as the main contact for manufacturer-sponsored initiatives and patient support programs.
• Assess opportunities to enhance specialty pharmacy services and therapeutic offerings.
• Enhance internal referral pathways in coordination with clinic leadership.
• Identify obstacles to retaining specialty prescriptions within the health system.
• Support accreditation-related requirements set forth by manufacturers.
• Oversee workflows related to medication access, including benefits investigation, prior authorization, appeals, financial assistance, and patient assistance programs.
• Formulate strategies to minimize delays in therapy initiation.
• Monitor performance metrics related to access.
• Address complex access issues with payers, manufacturers, and providers as necessary.
• Coordinate involvement in manufacturer HUB programs.
• Manage relationships with representatives from patient support programs.
• Keep track of financial assistance resources and grants from foundations.
• Monitor key performance indicators for specialty pharmacy business operations.
• Analyze referral leakage and capture rates.
• Track opportunities for access to limited distribution drugs and outcomes of manufacturer engagement.
• A Bachelor's degree in Pharmacy or a Doctorate of Pharmacy is required.
• Must hold a Kentucky Board of Pharmacy license in good standing.
• A minimum of three years of experience in ambulatory pharmacy, pharmaceutical industry, medication access, managed care, or healthcare operations.
• Experience with specialty medications and manufacturer programs is essential.
• Specialty pharmacy experience within a health system is required.
• Familiarity with manufacturer contracting or trade relations is necessary.
• Understanding of URAC and ACHC accreditation standards is a plus.
• Knowledge of specialty pharmacy economics, payer contracting, and limited distribution networks is important.
• An MBA, MHA, or a related advanced degree is preferred.
