Pharmacist

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Virginia.

📋 Description

• Deliver remote pharmacist services for Prairie Band Health Services.

• Process and validate outpatient prescriptions utilizing VistA and CPRS.

• Review and finalize pending outpatient prescriptions in VistA Outpatient Pharmacy.

• Conduct clinical screenings for allergies, drug-drug interactions, contraindications, and the appropriateness of doses/directions.

• Utilize CPRS to examine relevant notes and laboratory results when necessary.

• Properly manage prescriptions, including electronic release to CMOP or suspension for local mail delivery.

• Offer virtual pharmacist coverage seven days a week, from Sunday to Saturday, between 5:00 p.m. and 8:00 a.m. in the relevant local time, including federal holidays.

• Undertake additional job-related duties and responsibilities as directed by the supervisor.

⛳️ Requirements

• Applicants must be U.S. citizens.

• Must have graduated from a pharmacy degree program accredited by ACPE.

• Possess a full, current, and unrestricted license to practice pharmacy in a U.S. state, territory, commonwealth, or the District of Columbia.

• Recent experience with VistA and CPRS for processing and verifying outpatient prescriptions is required.

• A minimum of 12 months of cumulative VA outpatient prescription-processing experience within the last three years is necessary.

• Experience with VistA/CPRS outpatient prescription processing within the past three years is essential.

• Capability to perform outpatient prescription processing and verification upon commencement; training will not be provided.

• Familiarity with the VA formulary and its restrictions, including Prior Authorization requirements and criteria for the use of non-formulary drugs.

• Must be able to obtain clearance from the VISN 7 Department of Veterans Affairs Medical Center Information Security Officer.

• Must fulfill applicable Tier 2 Indian Preference requirements under Title 22 of the Prairie Band Potawatomi Nation Employment Code.
