Pharmacist

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Missouri.

📋 Description

• Review and clinically assess new and refill prescriptions for therapeutic suitability, interactions, contraindications, and dosing precision.

• Confirm the accuracy of pharmacy technician prescription data entry.

• Ensure filled prescriptions are checked for drug, dose, quantity, NDC, and labeling correctness prior to shipment.

• Conduct daily prospective drug utilization reviews and address clinical flags.

• Oversee specialty medication handling, including verification of cold-chain processes.

• Provide outbound patient counseling via phone regarding drug education, side effects, dosing, storage, and adherence.

• Manage inbound clinical patient calls and route non-clinical inquiries to patient support.

• Record patient interactions in the pharmacy management system.

• Offer bilingual counseling for Spanish-speaking patients when applicable.

• Reach out to prescribers to clarify incomplete, unclear, or inappropriate prescriptions.

• Collaborate with prescribers on therapeutic substitutions, DAW overrides, and formulary alternatives.

• Supervise pharmacy technicians involved in data entry, processing, packaging, and fulfillment workflows.

• Conduct quality checks and provide constructive feedback on technician performance.

• Identify trends in technician performance and engage in coaching and training initiatives.

• Ensure adherence to HIPAA, state pharmacy practice regulations, federal DEA guidelines, and company policies.

• Oversee the handling and destruction of records and materials containing PHI.

• Participate in audits, prescription error tracking, near-miss reporting, and pharmacovigilance activities.

• Maintain compliance for the storage of temperature-sensitive medications.

• Collaborate with pharmacy, patient services, clinical, compliance, and technology teams.

• Coordinate with shipping and fulfillment teams regarding packaging and delivery concerns.

• Provide clinical insights on technology and workflow improvements.

• Engage in huddles, quality reviews, and departmental meetings.

⛳️ Requirements

• Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) degree from an ACPE-accredited College of Pharmacy.

• Active Missouri Pharmacy License in good standing with the Missouri Board of Pharmacy.

• Proficient command of the English language, both written and spoken.

• Proven ability to conduct high-volume prescription verification with a keen attention to detail and accuracy.

• Strong technical skills and capability to learn pharmacy management systems, verification platforms, and internal workflow tools.

• Bilingual Spanish preferred for phone-based patient counseling.

• 3+ years of experience in a mail order, specialty, retail, or closed-door fulfillment pharmacy is preferred.

• Active pharmacy licensure required in the home state.

• Candidates must acquire licensure in 3 additional states from the provided list within the first 9 months of employment.

• Familiarity with pharmacovigilance or adverse drug event reporting protocols is preferred.
