PEC Consultant – Mediation Services, Conflict Resolution

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in District of Columbia, +1 more state.

📋 Description

• Articulate the mediation process, encompassing its scope, benefits, engagement guidelines, and anticipated results

• Identify and clarify both substantive and procedural matters

• Comprehend the scope, intensity, and contentiousness of the parties' issues

• Create a productive, respectful, neutral, and secure environment

• Ensure that all parties are treated with equal respect and are provided a significant opportunity to express their views

• Assist parties in recognizing and understanding their issues, positions, interests, needs, and concerns

• Support parties in generating options and assessing alternatives

• Aid parties in identifying feasible solutions

• Highlight areas of consensus and clarify proposals and counterproposals

• Navigate complex interpersonal dynamics and prevent manipulation of the mediation process

• Safeguard the confidentiality of mediation proceedings and related information

• Draft or help draft language that encapsulates the parties' agreements

• Consult with the OMN liaison regarding pertinent policy or process inquiries

⛳️ Requirements

• Master’s Degree or Licenciatura, preferably in Law, Human Resources, Alternative Dispute Resolution (ADR), or a related field

• At least 15 years of experience as a professional mediator

• A minimum of 20 cases completed as a lead or solo mediator

• At least 50 hours of mediation experience as a lead or solo mediator

• Strong familiarity with workplace disputes in multilateral organizations is highly preferred

• Proficient in English and one of the Bank's other official languages: Spanish, French, or Portuguese

• Citizenship in one of the IDB’s 48 member countries

• No family members up to the fourth degree of consanguinity or second degree of affinity, including spouse, employed at IDB, IDB Invest, or IDB Lab
