This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Assist in the execution of the payroll implementation project plan, which includes tracking workstreams, managing milestones, monitoring dependencies, maintaining issue/risk logs, and providing status updates.
• Collaborate with Payroll, HR, Finance, Engineering/Product teams, the designated payroll provider, and implementation partners.
• Aid in validating requirements, documenting payroll processes, ensuring system readiness, and planning for operational handoff.
• Support the migration of payroll data, including mapping, cleansing, validating, and reconciling information.
• Assist in the verification of payroll configurations, which encompass earnings and deduction codes, tax setup, payroll calendars, worker setups, and payroll processing rules.
• Facilitate integration efforts between GreenLight’s platform and the payroll provider.
• Validate data flows, including worker records, payroll inputs, payroll results, tax/deduction data, payment status, and reporting outputs.
• Support user acceptance testing, integration testing, and parallel payroll testing activities.
• Investigate discrepancies found during testing, document root causes, and monitor issues until resolution.
• Assist with cutover planning, ensuring go-live readiness, aligning payroll calendars, and stabilizing post-implementation.
• Create process documentation, testing materials, cutover checklists, job aids, and knowledge transfer documents.
• Provide hands-on hypercare support during the initial payroll cycles following the go-live phase.
• 5–8+ years of experience in payroll operations, payroll systems, payroll implementation, or payroll implementation support.
• Direct involvement in at least one complex payroll system or payroll provider implementation.
• In-depth understanding of complex payroll environments, particularly U.S. multi-state payroll.
• Experience managing high-volume hourly payroll, variable compensation, frequent worker changes, payroll cutoffs, exceptions, and reconciliations.
• Proven experience in supporting data validation, payroll reconciliation, parallel payroll testing, and resolving issues.
• Ability to coordinate cross-functional workstreams among payroll, HR, finance, engineering/product, vendors, and implementation partners.
• Comfortable collaborating with technical teams on integrations, data flows, field mapping, testing, and issue tracking.
• Strong proficiency in Excel, capable of analyzing large datasets to identify discrepancies.
• Excellent communication, documentation, and project coordination abilities.
• Availability for a contract duration of 3–5 months.
• CPP, FPC, PMP, or similar certifications are beneficial but not mandatory (preferred).
• Experience in supporting payroll implementations across multiple countries or with various payroll providers is preferred.
• Familiarity with U.S. and international payroll implementations, ideally including Canada, the UK, and EU countries (preferred).
• Experience in supporting payroll integrations with HCM/HRIS, time and attendance systems, benefits, finance, general ledger, or other operational systems (preferred).
• Experience with API-based integrations, working with vendor technical teams, conducting sandbox testing, creating integration test scripts, and performing system-to-system reconciliation (preferred).
• Background in complex hourly, contingent workforce, staffing, EOR, or payrolling environments (preferred).
• Experience working alongside third-party implementation partners in complex enterprise or multi-entity settings (preferred).
• Temporary contract role anticipated to last approximately 3–5 months.
