This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in India.
• Oversee payroll exceptions, adjustments, garnishments, benefit deductions, reconciliations, levies, and other intricate issues.
• Diagnose and resolve payroll challenges, encompassing quarter-end and year-end processing and reconciliations.
• Ensure adherence to relevant payroll regulations and statutory obligations.
• Collaborate with internal teams, service providers, and local payroll vendors as a subject matter expert to address payroll concerns.
• Assist in the implementation of payroll processes, system enhancements, statutory modifications, and program launches.
• Engage in testing enhancements and updates to the payroll system.
• Recognize and execute process and documentation enhancements, including opportunities for automation.
• Track payroll performance metrics, including SLAs and KPIs.
• Provide support and mentorship to other payroll specialists and payroll administrator team members to ensure quality and continuity in payroll delivery.
• Act promptly and serve as a primary or secondary escalation point for urgent issues, including offering backup support for the Payroll Manager.
• Collaborate directly with employees and clients to resolve intricate payroll matters.
• Experience in managing comprehensive payroll operations across various countries (Americas, EMEA, and/or APAC), including payroll processing, validations, reconciliations, statutory filings, and compliance with local payroll laws.
• In-depth knowledge of payroll legislation, taxability rules, earnings and deductions, gross-to-net calculations, and payroll best practices across multiple jurisdictions.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities with the capability to identify issues, interpret data, resolve exceptions, and ensure payroll accuracy and compliance.
• Demonstrated expertise in implementing payroll processes, supporting operational rollouts, and driving process improvements through automation, AI-enhanced solutions, and technology adoption.
• Proficient in payroll systems and associated technologies, with the aptitude to rapidly learn new platforms and tools.
• Outstanding organizational, communication, and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate with internal teams, external vendors, and government entities in a remote work setting.
• High level of integrity, discretion, and meticulous attention to detail when managing confidential employee and payroll data.
• 3-5 years of payroll experience is necessary, preferably in a payroll service provider environment.
