Rev Cycle Billing Specialist – Medicaid Authorization, Excel Data Entry

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Illinois.

📋 Description

• Oversee accounts receivable in accordance with compliance, regulatory standards, billing, and payer protocols.

• Confirm insurance coverage and address charge review edits, claim edits, clearinghouse rejections, and payer rejections.

• Verify billing prerequisites, validate work orders, secure authorizations, manage self-pay transactions, submit claims, and rectify billing discrepancies.

• Generate and upload statement files while addressing incorrect address rejections.

• Prepare accounts for potential bad debt and referrals to collection agencies.

• Establish and assess accounts for Carle Financial Assistance and Community Care Financial Assistance Program, including adjustment requests.

• Follow up on outstanding receivables using phone calls, web portals, websites, and mail correspondence.

• Address underpayments, non-payments, overpayments, and undistributed payments.

• Compile payer reports and forms.

• Set up payment arrangements and apply self-pay transactions.

• Review, process, and validate work orders and payer authorizations.

• Assess Prompt Pay Discount adjustments.

⛳️ Requirements

• Associate's Degree.

• Experience with Medicaid authorization.

• Proficiency in Excel data entry and spreadsheet management.

• Understanding of compliance, regulatory standards, billing guidelines, and payer rules.

• Capability to validate insurance coverage and resolve billing, claim, clearinghouse, and payer rejections.

• Proficient in obtaining prior authorizations and processing payments.

• Skilled in submitting claims and correcting billing errors.

• Experience in managing accounts receivable, bad debt, financial assistance, and payment arrangements.

• Strong communication skills with patients, insurance providers, public agencies, internal departments, and third-party payers.
