Payor Change Coordinator

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Accurately and efficiently manage changes to patient insurance and payor information.

• Confirm insurance coverage, eligibility prerequisites, and payor details via phone and online resources.

• Secure verbal or written authorization for medical treatment from the relevant parties.

• Ensure the appropriate product and payor are utilized for services, equipment, and therapies.

• Ascertain that the correct allowable is documented in compliance with payor contracts.

• Investigate and resolve account discrepancies, including gaps between current and previous payor requirements and billing documentation.

• Review accounts to ensure that outstanding and upcoming invoices are billed accurately.

• Detect and rectify inconsistencies in insurance data and account records.

• Respond to incoming patient calls regarding insurance updates and outline subsequent steps.

• Collaborate with patients, branches, and referral sources to secure necessary testing.

• Inform patients and manage scheduling for required testing.

• Accurately document account activities in ACIS and other mandated systems.

• Assist in ensuring payment is confirmed before delivery, with revenue properly recorded.

• Adhere to regulatory standards, company policies, procedures, and best practices.

• Provide support for additional tasks and projects as assigned.


⛳️ Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent qualification.

• Minimum of one year of relevant work experience.

• At least one year of experience in medical billing.

• Understanding of payor contractual obligations.

• Keen attention to detail with the ability to identify and rectify discrepancies.

• Excellent verbal and written communication capabilities.

• Proficient in collaborating effectively with patients, payors, branches, and internal teams.

• Basic computer proficiency, including Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access, MS Project, and Visio.

• Proficient in reading, writing, and speaking English.

• Suitable workspace and capability to perform essential functions remotely.
