This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Ohio.
• Manage a high volume of incoming calls from patients, their representatives, attorneys, and insurance firms.
• Assess the needs of callers and address inquiries with accuracy and efficiency.
• Investigate and document billing issues in accordance with standard operating procedures, policies, and departmental resources.
• Employ escalation procedures for intricate accounts.
• Effectively communicate USACS billing policies concerning patient accounts.
• Recognize billing issues and implement proactive measures to mitigate negative outcomes.
• Uphold confidentiality and professionalism in alignment with HIPAA and USACS standards.
• Research accounts, manage payments and adjustments, and handle incoming correspondence.
• Comply with departmental schedules and attendance policies to ensure effective call-center operations.
• A high school diploma or equivalent is mandatory.
• Experience in call centers, customer service, medical insurance, or billing is advantageous but not essential.
• Capability to deliver top-quality customer service.
• Outstanding telephone communication skills and active listening abilities.
• Proficient in adapting communication styles to suit various caller types while maintaining professionalism, composure, and empathy.
• Familiarity with Windows applications, including Excel, Word, and Outlook.
• Basic understanding of medical insurance terminology.
• Fundamental math skills for managing calculations related to payments and account balances.
• Strong multitasking, prioritization, and time management skills.
• Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
• Capability to thrive in a fast-paced and ever-evolving environment.
• Willingness to request patient payments and assist in reconciling account balances.
• Employee is frequently required to sit for extended periods and occasionally walk, stand, bend, stoop, and lift items weighing up to 15 pounds.
• Close visual acuity is required.
