Patient Services Associate

📋 Description

• Address billing inquiries from patients and providers regarding the services rendered

• Audit patient balances and escalate accounts that need adjustments

• Update demographic and insurance details of patients

• Rebill claims while reviewing accounts in collections

• Generate and print patient statements while overseeing the printing process

• Process payments through client payment portals

• Review reports on bad addresses and returned mail, updating demographic information as necessary

• Analyze collection reports and create letters detailing collection progress

• Prepare accounts for distribution to collection agencies

• Cross-train on team responsibilities to ensure backup and continuity

• Protect patient health information in compliance with HIPAA regulations

• Support the goals and policies of the department and the company

• Maintain consistent attendance and punctuality

• Escalate issues to the Patient Services Manager or Director
