This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Utah.
β’ Act as the primary point of contact between Intermountain and patients.
β’ Foster collaborative relationships with patients and other caregivers.
β’ Deliver courteous and professional interactions via phone, in person, or through secure messaging.
β’ Assess and address patient intake and care requirements.
β’ Welcome and check in/out patients while confirming the information provided.
β’ Accurately document phone interactions in the electronic medical record (EMR).
β’ Arrange appointments for visits, procedures, diagnostic tests, referrals, and consultations.
β’ Register patients by verifying, entering, and updating demographic and guarantor information.
β’ Adhere to patient identification protocols.
β’ Collect insurance cards, identification documents, and necessary signatures.
β’ Confirm insurance coordination of benefits and manage pre-certification/prior authorization as required.
β’ Assist patients with forms related to regulatory and billing requirements.
β’ Scan documents and inform patients about financial aid options.
β’ Request and process payments for both current and past medical services.
β’ Stay updated on job responsibilities, changes, dashboards, work queues, emails, and clinic/service line meetings.
β’ Minimum of six months experience in customer service with direct customer interactions.
β’ Proven basic computer skills, including word processing and data entry.
β’ Professional demeanor with strong interpersonal and communication abilities.
β’ Capability to work collaboratively with patients and fellow caregivers.
β’ Ability to maintain privacy, confidentiality, and protect Protected Health Information (PHI).
β’ High school diploma or GED is preferred.
β’ Experience in billing and collections is preferred.
β’ Familiarity with electronic medical records (EMR) systems and other relevant software is preferred.
β’ Multilingual candidates are preferred.
β’ Ability to see and read information, labels, documents, and screens.
β’ Capacity to communicate verbally and to comprehend spoken information.
β’ Manual dexterity for using computers and handling supplies/equipment.
β’ May need to stand for extended periods, lift supplies, and assist patients entering/exiting the clinic.
