This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
β’ Manage both inbound and outbound communications for up to six BMC ambulatory practices.
β’ Address patient inquiries and any questions or concerns they may have.
β’ Schedule and reschedule appointments utilizing a computerized scheduling system.
β’ Follow up with patients regarding medication reconciliation and refills.
β’ Conduct insurance verification and manage authorization processes.
β’ Document and communicate patient information to practices in accordance with established guidelines.
β’ Interact with patients and staff through phone, online chat, email, fax, and mail.
β’ Resolve patient inquiries by employing effective listening skills and both written and verbal communication.
β’ Transfer calls to the appropriate practice personnel when further consultation is required.
β’ Accurately update patient records using the Epic system.
β’ Provide appointment confirmations, directions, language-specific home instructions, and lab or imaging guidance.
β’ Identify opportunities for process improvements and stay informed on healthcare developments and changes in practice protocols.
β’ Elevate issues that fall outside existing protocols or processes.
β’ Attend designated training sessions.
β’ Assist in training and orienting new staff members.
β’ Participate in staff meetings and identify barriers to a positive patient experience.
β’ Adapt to departmental needs by assisting colleagues, floating, and modifying assignments as necessary.
β’ Adhere to hospital behavioral standards, patient rights, HIPAA regulations, privacy protocols, infection control procedures, and safety standards.
β’ Perform additional duties as required.
β’ High School diploma or GED is required.
β’ Reliable internet connection.
β’ A quiet and secure workspace at home that is free from interruptions.
β’ Exceptional English communication skills, both oral and written.
β’ Capacity to explain complex healthcare issues with empathy and care.
β’ Ability to empathize with and guide patients through the healthcare system.
β’ Strong interpersonal skills when working with diverse professionals and personalities within a team setting.
β’ Proficiency in using phone calls, online chats, emails, faxes, and mail.
β’ Solid computer skills and familiarity with Microsoft Office applications, including Internet Explorer, MS Word, Excel, and Outlook.
β’ Ability to document work in a professional and efficient manner.
