This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Manage both inbound and outbound communications for up to six BMC ambulatory practices.
• Address patient inquiries efficiently.
• Schedule and reschedule appointments utilizing a computerized scheduling system.
• Conduct follow-ups with patients.
• Resolve queries and concerns related to medication reconciliation and refills.
• Carry out insurance verification and authorization management.
• Document and convey patient information to practices in accordance with established guidelines.
• Interact with patients and staff via phone calls, online chats, emails, faxes, and postal mail.
• Respond to and resolve patient inquiries in a professional, empathetic, and patient-centered manner.
• Implement practice guidelines and transfer calls for further consultation when needed.
• Provide accurate information and update patient records using Epic.
• Confirm appointment details, directions, language-specific home instructions, and necessary lab or imaging instructions.
• Identify opportunities to enhance work processes and stay updated on healthcare advancements.
• Escalate issues that fall outside existing protocols or processes.
• Attend scheduled training sessions.
• Assist in the training and orientation of new personnel under the direction of a manager or supervisor.
• Take part in staff meetings and identify process issues impacting patient experience.
• Adapt to departmental needs by assisting team members, floating, and modifying assignments.
• Support the hospital's mission and goals through adherence to behavioral standards.
• Perform additional duties as required.
• A minimum of a High School diploma or GED.
• Ability to articulate complex healthcare issues to patients with empathy and care.
• Capability to empathize with and guide patients in navigating the healthcare system.
• Strong interpersonal skills to work effectively with diverse groups of professionals in a team setting.
• Excellent English communication skills, both oral and written.
• Proficient in communicating with patients via phone, email, and other mediums.
• Comfortable utilizing various advanced communication tools, including phone calls, online chats, emails, faxes, or postal mail.
• Strong computer literacy.
• Familiarity with Microsoft Office applications, including Internet Explorer, MS Word, Excel, and Outlook.
• Ability to document work in a professional and efficient manner.
• Reliable internet connection.
• A quiet and secure workspace free from interruptions for remote work.
• Must adhere to hospital standards of performance and conduct, including patient rights and HIPAA/privacy regulations.
