Patient Intake Specialist

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Arizona.

📋 Description

• Assist with new patient admissions by gathering and inputting precise demographic and clinical details.

• Confirm insurance coverage and assess benefits.

• Submit requests for authorizations and follow up as necessary.

• Evaluate prescription validity and pinpoint any missing or required documents.

• Interact with patients and referral sources to collect necessary intake information.

• Collaborate with internal departments to ensure a timely initiation of care.

• Keep accurate, HIPAA-compliant records.

• Guide patients throughout the admissions procedure to help minimize delays in the commencement of care.

⛳️ Requirements

• Background in customer service or patient service representative roles within the healthcare sector.

• Highly organized and detail-oriented.

• Comfortable handling multiple intake cases concurrently.

• Capable of working independently in a remote setting.

• Familiarity with healthcare documentation and insurance processes.

• Must maintain a quiet and dedicated workspace, free from background noise and distractions.

• Ability to engage in virtual meetings with a professional and camera-ready appearance.

• Strong time-management skills, along with accountability and self-direction.

• Must have access to reliable, high-speed internet.

• At least 2 years of experience in healthcare intake, medical office administration, or insurance support.

• Preference for candidates with experience in insurance verification or authorizations.

• Previous experience in home health, DME, or medical office settings is a plus.

• High school diploma or GED is required.

• Candidates located in the Mountain and Pacific Time Zones will be prioritized for consideration.

• Availability for scheduling from Monday to Friday, 8 AM to 5 PM MST.
