Patient Access Representative

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Act as the initial point of contact for patients.

• Uphold Mercy's reputation by delivering exceptional customer service and showing compassion.

• Assist patients in entering Mercy facilities smoothly.

• Arrange patient appointments efficiently.

• Process patient registrations.

• Confirm patient benefits.

• Carry out pre-certification and ensure financial clearance.

• Collect payments prior to visits.

• Accurately gather and maintain patient information in medical records.

• Stay informed and skilled regarding insurance providers, Medicare protocols, and regulations from federal, state, and accreditation agencies.

⛳️ Requirements

• Preferred 1-3 years of clerical and customer service experience.

• Familiarity with medical terms and insurance plans is an advantage.

• A High School diploma is mandatory.

• Strong oral and written communication skills are essential.

• Outstanding telephone manners.

• Capability to build and maintain positive relationships with patients, physicians, clinical and non-clinical hospital staff, and insurance companies.

• Excellent organizational abilities and attention to detail.

• Ability to perform under pressure, meet deadlines, and complete daily tasks accurately.

• Proficient knowledge and experience with various computer systems.

• Skill in using a 10-key calculator and computer keyboard.

• Physical ability to push, pull, and/or lift up to 50 lbs regularly.

• Capability to stand and walk for extended periods throughout each shift.

• Ability to grip, reach, bend, kneel, twist, and squat.

• Understanding of insurance providers, Medicare guidelines, and federal, state, and accreditation regulations.
