Patient Access Representative

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Act as the primary point of contact for patients

• Oversee all aspects of patient admission into Mercy facilities

• Arrange patient appointments

• Enroll patients

• Confirm benefits

• Complete pre-certification and financial clearance, including collection prior to visits

• Gather and accurately record patient information in medical records

• Maintain expertise regarding insurance providers, Medicare regulations, and federal, state, and accreditation standards

• Uphold Mercy's mission, values, and Service Standards while representing the organization

⛳️ Requirements

• Preferred 1-3 years of clerical and customer service experience

• Familiarity with medical terminology and insurance plans is preferred

• High School diploma is required

• Some college education is beneficial

• Effective communication skills, both verbal and written

• Strong telephone etiquette is a must

• Ability to build and maintain positive relationships with patients, physicians, clinical and non-clinical hospital staff, and insurance companies

• Excellent organizational skills and meticulous attention to detail

• Capability to thrive under pressure, meet deadlines, and complete daily tasks with a high degree of accuracy

• Proficient in various computer systems

• Skillful in using a 10-key calculator and computer keyboard

• Capacity to regularly push, pull, and/or lift up to 50 lbs

• Ability to stand and walk for extended periods during each shift

• Competence in gripping, reaching, bending, kneeling, twisting, and squatting to fulfill job responsibilities
