Pashto Interpreter

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in California, +5 more states.

📋 Description

• Offer professional Pashto-English interpretation services remotely through Video Remote Interpreting (VRI) and telephone.

• Facilitate effective communication across medical, legal, educational, governmental, and social service environments.

• Provide real-time interpretation of spoken communication between Pashto and English.

• Uphold confidentiality and adhere to professional standards and ethical guidelines in interpretation.

• Exhibit professionalism, impartiality, cultural sensitivity, accuracy, and meticulous attention to detail.

• Interpret legal proceedings, hearings, conferences, and other formal events as required.

• Keep abreast of relevant Pashto terminology and language advancements.

⛳️ Requirements

• Proficiency in both Pashto and English languages.

• Must reside in the United States.

• Certification, training, or qualifications in interpretation are preferred, but not mandatory.

• Familiarity with legal terminology and interpreting practices.

• Experience in interpreting for court hearings, legal proceedings, conferences, or similar environments.

• Previous experience with VRI and/or telephone interpretation is preferred.

• Excellent communication and listening abilities.

• Capability to interpret accurately and efficiently in real time.

• Awareness of cultural nuances and the ability to deliver culturally sensitive interpretation.

• Aptitude for working under pressure while maintaining accuracy and professionalism.

• Dependable high-speed internet connection and suitable equipment for VRI services.
