Part-Time Software Engineer Co-op

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Colorado.

📋 Description

• Engage in monthly seminars focused on enhancing participation.

• Complete all training mandated by Raytheon.

• Take part in activities related to security clearance.

• Meet regularly with a mentor for guidance.

• Dedicate 2–4 hours each month to support co-op initiatives.

• Acquire knowledge about mission-specific concepts and technologies relevant to customers.

• Understand systems engineering principles pertaining to requirements, architecture, design, and testing.

• Gain insights into software engineering methodologies, artificial intelligence, and agile development practices.

• Learn the fundamentals of continuous integration and continuous delivery.

• Transition to a full-time onsite role in Richardson, Texas, upon graduation and security clearance approval.

• Assist in the design, development, and maintenance of systems that support customer missions after conversion.

⛳️ Requirements

• Candidates must be a Senior or Post-Graduate, graduating/completing studies in December 2027 in Computer Science or a related Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM) field.

• A minimum of 90 credit hours must be completed by the beginning of the internship/co-op session.

• Proficiency in developing object-oriented software using Java within a Linux environment is required.

• Ability to troubleshoot software issues and implement fixes in a modern Integrated Development Environment (IDE) such as Eclipse or VSCode.

• U.S. citizenship is mandatory.

• Candidates must be able to obtain and maintain a U.S. government-issued TS/SCI security clearance.

• An active and existing security clearance is required from day one.

• Must be able to work from one of the 50 U.S. states, excluding U.S. Territories.

• Experience with Agile development is preferred.

• Familiarity with software development using Python, C++, or JavaScript is preferred.

• Experience with applications in the AWS Cloud is preferred.

• Knowledge of microservices, Docker, Kubernetes, and containerized applications is preferred.

• Excellent verbal and written communication skills are preferred.
