Part Time Behavioral Health Assessment Clinician, California Licensed

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in California.

📋 Description

• Perform thorough behavioral health assessments and intake evaluations for children, adolescents, and their caregivers, focusing mainly on ADHD and anxiety.

• Collect comprehensive developmental, behavioral, psychiatric, medical, family, school, and psychosocial histories.

• Evaluate symptom severity, functional impairment, diagnostic criteria, and differential diagnoses.

• Combine clinical interview data, standardized assessments, collateral information, and records into cohesive clinical formulations.

• Identify and evaluate safety concerns, including conducting risk assessments and safety planning as necessary.

• Offer evidence-based treatment suggestions and subsequent steps, which may include Clarity services, external referrals, or higher levels of care.

• Clearly communicate clinical findings and recommendations in a compassionate, accessible, and actionable manner.

• Ensure timely, precise, and high-quality clinical documentation is completed.

• Collaborate with behavioral health, medical, and care coordination teams during care transitions.

• Consistently apply assessment protocols while utilizing clinical judgment for complex cases.

• Engage in consultation, training, calibration, and quality enhancement activities.

• Focus exclusively on behavioral health assessments and intake evaluations, without managing an ongoing individual therapy caseload or facilitating routine group sessions.

⛳️ Requirements

• Master’s degree in a relevant behavioral health field and active licensure as an LMFT, LCSW, or LPCC; or a doctoral degree in psychology (PhD or PsyD) with active licensure as a psychologist.

• Currently licensed in California and willing to obtain licensure in other states.

• Experience in evaluating children and adolescents, along with working with their parents and caregivers.

• Strong background in diagnostic assessment, clinical formulation, differential diagnosis, and treatment planning.

• Experience in assessing and treating pediatric ADHD and/or anxiety.

• Comfortable evaluating risk, safety, symptom severity, and functional impairment, and determining when a patient may require a different level or type of care.

• Capable of synthesizing information from various sources and recognizing clinically significant details.

• Proficient in administering and interpreting standardized behavioral health screening or assessment tools.

• Able to communicate clinical findings and complex behavioral health concepts clearly to families.

• Comfortable working within a structured, evidence-based assessment framework while exercising independent clinical judgment.

• Values measurement, clinical quality, feedback, and consistency.

• Tech-savvy and a quick learner.

• Proficiency in Spanish is desirable.

• Experience in integrated behavioral health, pediatric care, or multidisciplinary healthcare environments is beneficial.

• Experience in conducting virtual behavioral health assessments is advantageous.

• Licensure in additional states is a plus.

• Must have a reliable, secure internet connection in a private, distraction-free environment.
