Organ Recovery Specialist – Transplant Center

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Ohio.

📋 Description

• Oversee the organ transplant procedure from the initial organ offer to the actual transplant.

• Receive and evaluate organ offers from the Organ Procurement and Transplantation Network (OPTN) Contractor.

• Support the team with primary organ offers.

• Offer ongoing on-call support for organ procurement activities.

• Gather and document information regarding potential donor organs.

• Liaise with the host Organ Procurement Organization (OPO).

• Communicate with attending physicians, fellows, Pre-Transplant Coordinators, Operating Room personnel, Control desk staff, surgeons, and other team members.

• Organize logistics for recipient operating room activities.

• Assist Organ Recovery Specialists 2-3 with transportation arrangements for the procurement team.

• Manage donor operation tasks, including travel logistics and the perfusion of deceased donor organs.

• Collaborate with team members to ensure a seamless recipient operation.

• Execute additional responsibilities as assigned.

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree in Biological Sciences or a comparable combination of education and experience.

• Successful completion of a background check is mandatory for final candidates.

• A drug screening or physical examination may be required during the post-offer process.

• Capability to provide ongoing on-call assistance.

• Flexibility to work various shifts.
