This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in California.
• Provide technical support for observatory operations
• Set up edge-compute capabilities on both Windows and Linux systems
• Aid in the analysis of satellite-tracking data
• Ensure the Anduril space object catalog remains accurate, complete, and reliable
• Guarantee that derived products align with specified customer standards
• Conduct catalog maintenance, data curation, and ensure quality assurance
• Oversee and assess global telescope network operations
• Identify and document knowledge articles and standard operating procedures related to network operations
• Diagnose issues, uncover root causes of failures, and coordinate subsequent actions
• Generate and evaluate metrics for debugging and monitoring purposes
• Contribute to software solutions that enhance operational efficiency
• Collaborate with end users to translate their needs into features while balancing user experience with engineering limitations
• Engage as an active team member in a 24/7 operational environment
• Background in engineering from industry or academia, preferably in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Mathematics, or Physics
• Capability to quickly grasp and navigate complex systems and detailed specifications
• Proficiency in resolving intricate technical challenges with minimal supervision
• Strong communication and organizational skills, including the ability to create documentation and training materials
• Willingness to work in a monitoring and operations setting that may require shift work, on-call duties, and/or extended hours
• Must be eligible to obtain and maintain an active U.S. Secret security clearance
• Preferred: Experience with orbital mechanics and understanding of satellite orbit characteristics
• Preferred: Familiarity with space domain awareness concepts, space object catalogs, and/or conjunction/maneuver analysis
• Preferred: Exposure to telescope or other observational data
• Preferred: Minimum of 3+ years of experience with programming languages such as Java, Python, C++, Rust, Go, or JavaScript
• Preferred: Availability to discuss shift options for a 24/7 team
• Competitive base salary ranging from $132,000 to $198,000 USD
