Online Visiting Professor – Cloud Computing

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Instruct undergraduate and graduate students in cloud computing courses.

• Foster student learning in alignment with DeVry University standards.

• Create course syllabi and lesson plans that meet course and program objectives.

• Organize, prepare, and regularly update course materials.

• Utilize websites, email, online discussions, and course-related software for course delivery.

• Exemplify effective oral and written communication skills.

• Communicate course objectives, assignment due dates, and evaluation criteria.

• Ensure examinations are consistent with course terminal objectives.

• Prepare and grade examinations in a consistent and fair manner.

• Provide prompt feedback to students.

• Incorporate responsible AI technologies into teaching and learning methodologies.

• Identify, assess, and address appropriate and inappropriate use of AI tools by students.

• Perform additional responsibilities as assigned.

⛳️ Requirements

• A Doctorate in Cloud Computing, Computer Science, Information Systems, Information Technology, or a closely related discipline is required.

• A minimum of 18 graduate credit hours in cloud computing, distributed systems, networking, cybersecurity, or a relevant computing field.

• Unofficial graduate-level transcripts are to be uploaded with the application.

• The degree must be obtained from an institution accredited by an agency recognized by the U.S. Department of Education or the Council for Higher Education Accreditation, or from an internationally equivalent accredited institution.

• Three to five years of professional experience in cloud computing, distributed infrastructure, virtualization, or cloud-native technologies.

• Experience in cloud architecture and cloud-enabled software development, including infrastructure provisioning, containerization, and deployment of cloud-platform applications.

• Industry-recognized certifications or professional credentials pertinent to cloud computing, cloud architecture, infrastructure engineering, or DevOps practices.

• Strong expertise in cloud technologies.

• Effective communication skills with the ability to articulate complex technical concepts to a diverse audience.

• Knowledgeable in secure and responsible cloud operations, including identity and access management, data protection, regulatory considerations, and best practices in cloud security.

• Commitment to continuous professional development in instructional technology, digital literacy, and responsible AI practices.

• Additional requirements may apply depending on state licensing, institutional policy, or accreditation standards.

• Preferred: industry certifications in cloud platforms or cloud architecture such as AWS, Microsoft Azure, or Google Cloud.

• Preferred: experience in cloud-native development, containerization, microservices, serverless computing, and orchestration.

• Preferred: experience in DevSecOps, CI/CD pipelines, infrastructure as code, and automated security.

• Preferred: expertise in hybrid and multi-cloud environments, workload migration, cloud cost management, and cloud governance.

• Preferred: experience with accreditation processes, outcomes assessment, curriculum mapping, and continuous improvement.

• Preferred: active involvement in professional technology or cloud-related organizations.

• Preferred: experience with cloud-based laboratories, virtualized environments, or platform-based learning environments in post-secondary education.

• Preferred: two to five years of teaching experience in post-secondary education.
