Online Visiting Professor – Cancer Registry Management

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Arizona, +2 more states.

📋 Description

• Deliver undergraduate and graduate courses as an online visiting professor.

• Foster student learning in alignment with DeVry University's standards.

• Create course syllabi and lesson plans that meet course and program goals.

• Organize, prepare, and regularly update course materials.

• Utilize online technologies and course-related software, including websites, email, and online discussions.

• Exemplify effective oral and written communication skills.

• Announce course objectives, assignment and exam dates, and evaluation criteria.

• Ensure that exams align with course objectives.

• Prepare and grade exams in a consistent and fair manner.

• Provide timely feedback to students.

• Incorporate responsible AI technologies to enhance teaching and learning.

• Identify, assess, and address appropriate and inappropriate student usage of AI tools.

• Perform additional duties as assigned.

⛳️ Requirements

• Master's degree in health information management, public health, or a healthcare-related field from a regionally accredited institution.

• Current certification as an Oncology Data Specialist (ODS) or Certified Tumor Registrar (CTR) is required.

• At least 5 years of experience managing cancer registry operations, including case finding, abstracting, and follow-up.

• In-depth knowledge of AJCC/TNM staging, SEER Summary Staging, and collaborative staging systems.

• Familiarity with cancer registry software platforms and NAACCR data standards.

• Working knowledge of NCRA or CAHIIM accreditation standards and quality control procedures.

• Understanding of cancer surveillance reporting to state and national databases.

• Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings.
