Online Visiting Professor, Cancer Registry Management

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Arizona, +2 more states.

📋 Description

• Instruct undergraduate and graduate courses focused on cancer registry management.

• Create and develop approved course syllabi, lesson plans, and educational materials.

• Organize, prepare, update, and revise course content as needed.

• Utilize online technologies, websites, email, online discussions, and course-related software effectively.

• Support student learning in alignment with DeVry University’s standards.

• Establish course expectations, terminal objectives, assignment deadlines, examination dates, and evaluation criteria.

• Ensure that examinations are consistent with course objectives.

• Prepare and grade exams in a fair and consistent manner.

• Provide prompt feedback to students.

• Incorporate responsible AI technologies into the teaching and learning process.

• Identify, assess, and manage the appropriate and inappropriate use of AI tools by students.

• Perform additional duties as assigned.


⛳️ Requirements

• Master’s degree in health information management, public health, or a related healthcare field from a regionally accredited institution.

• Current certification as an Oncology Data Specialist (ODS) or Certified Tumor Registrar (CTR) is mandatory.

• At least 5 years of experience managing cancer registry operations, including case finding, abstracting, and follow-up.

• Proficiency in AJCC/TNM staging, SEER Summary Staging, and collaborative staging systems.

• Familiarity with cancer registry software platforms and NAACCR data standards.

• Knowledge of NCRA or CAHIIM accreditation standards and quality control practices.

• Understanding of cancer surveillance reporting to state and national databases.

• Capability to work flexible hours, including evenings.

• Dedication to continuous professional development in instructional technology, digital literacy, and responsible AI practices.
