OCM, Training Lead – Japanese Speaking

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Alaska, +2 more states.

📋 Description

• Take ownership and lead the overall change management and training strategy across various workstreams, plants, and business functions.

• Perform change impact assessments based on role, business division, and plant location.

• Identify the effects of new processes and systems on operators, inspectors, planners, warehouse staff, maintenance technicians, controllers, and other end users.

• Create and implement stakeholder engagement and communication plans for executives, plant management, supervisors, and shop-floor employees.

• Design and provide role-specific training curricula, hands-on system training, work instructions, quick-reference guides, shop-floor dashboards, quality inspection processes, handheld terminal transactions, planning processes, maintenance execution, and costing processes.

• Lead the development of the language strategy for end-user training content, prioritizing Japanese as the main shop-floor language.

• Oversee translation, ensure terminology consistency, review content, and create multilingual training materials.

• Facilitate structured knowledge capture from key business users and subject-matter experts.

• Document essential business logic related to lot numbering, allocation, planning, inspection, and other undocumented processes.

• Establish and support a super-user/key-user network across various plants and shifts.

• Define business readiness criteria and conduct assessments for go/no-go decisions.

• Develop role-based adoption metrics and monitor adoption throughout the hypercare phase.

• Initiate corrective actions when adoption data suggests ineffective adoption.

• Assist in transitioning away from legacy tools while addressing workaround behaviors.

• Collaborate closely with the Program Manager, workstream leads, plant management, local HR, and training and communications teams.

• Support the program from the Explore phase through deployment and hypercare.

• Provide extensive onsite support at Japan-based sites across multiple shifts during training delivery, cutover, and hypercare.


⛳️ Requirements

• U.S. Citizens only.

• Over 8 years of experience in Organizational Change Management and end-user training for enterprise system implementations.

• Experience in supporting at least three full-lifecycle ERP implementations, including a minimum of one SAP implementation.

• Proven experience delivering change management and training to manufacturing shop-floor populations, including operators, inspectors, and technicians.

• Strong background in designing and delivering role-based training curricula.

• Experience in developing hands-on system training, work instructions, quick-reference guides, and end-user training materials.

• Ability to support users with varying levels of technical and system proficiency.

• Experience managing training and enablement across multiple shifts and manufacturing locations.

• Strong understanding of structured change management methodologies such as Prosci/ADKAR, Kotter, or equivalent.

• Experience in conducting business readiness assessments and defining go/no-go criteria.

• Proven ability to define and measure adoption metrics beyond training completion rates.

• Experience in establishing and supporting sustainable super-user/key-user networks.

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.

• A Bachelor's degree or higher in Computer Science, Business Administration, or a related field is required in the application questions.

• Business-level bilingual proficiency in English and Japanese is preferred.

• Previous experience supporting change management initiatives in Japan or with Japanese manufacturing organizations is preferred.

• Familiarity with Japanese workplace culture, consensus-building practices, and shop-floor communication norms is preferred.

• Experience delivering multilingual training programs for multinational manufacturing workforces is preferred.

• Experience in managing translation quality and terminology governance is preferred.

• Experience in supporting the retirement of legacy tools and addressing workaround behaviors is preferred.

• Familiarity with SAP Digital Manufacturing, operator dashboards, SAP Fiori, and handheld terminal interfaces is preferred.

• Experience with digital adoption platforms, in-application guidance tools, or SAP Enable Now is preferred.

• Formal change management certification such as Prosci or equivalent is preferred.

• Experience with batch management and traceability is preferred but not required.

• Knowledge of lot creation, splitting, merging, identification, batch status management, quality usage decisions, and SAP batch-process transitions is preferred.
