Nurse Practitioner – Women's Weight Loss/Obesity Medicine

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Pennsylvania.

📋 Description

• Provide thorough, specialized, evidence-based, and patient-centered care to women throughout their lifespan within the Women’s Metabolic Health program.

• Conduct comprehensive, age-appropriate assessments that include detailed medical histories and physical examinations.

• Perform intake evaluations for women who are at risk or dealing with overweight, obesity, and/or symptomatic menopause.

• Educate patients on recognizing obesity as a chronic, multifaceted condition and discuss long-term health strategies.

• Utilize motivational interviewing techniques to promote nutrition, physical activity, sleep, stress management, and sustainable lifestyle modifications.

• Order diagnostic tests and prescribe medications in accordance with established care protocols and scope of practice.

• Offer virtual and phone-based consultations for patients.

• Collaborate with clinical colleagues, physicians, supervising doctors, and interdisciplinary partners to ensure seamless and consistent high-quality care.

• Conduct ongoing systematic assessments and data collection that encompass physiological, psychosocial, cultural, spiritual, cognitive, educational, family, and advocacy needs.

• Review patient medical records for follow-ups and order diagnostic studies following established protocols.

• Adhere to safety, risk management, confidentiality, legal, and regulatory standards.

• Respond to urgent or emergency situations per established protocols and document actions taken appropriately.

• Utilize EHR systems, clinical technology, and telehealth tools to record, monitor, and communicate patient care.

⛳️ Requirements

• A Master’s or Doctoral degree in Nursing (MS, MSN, or DNP) is required.

• Board certification in Family Nurse Practitioner (FNP), Adult-Gerontology Nurse Practitioner (AGNP), or Women’s Health Nurse Practitioner (WHNP).

• Must possess a current, unrestricted Indiana APRN Prescriptive Authority license and DEA registration.

• Current enrollment/participation with Indiana Medical Insurance Payors is necessary.

• MSCP Certification from the Menopause Society is preferred, or the ability to secure it within the designated timeframe.

• A minimum of 1 year of experience in Obesity Medicine is mandatory.

• Experience in managing GLP-1 medications is required.

• Proven experience in providing education and coaching on lifestyle modifications.

• Experience in virtual practice is highly preferred.

• A Certificate of Advanced Education in Obesity from OMA or TOS/AAPA is an advantage.

• Candidates must reside in Pennsylvania.

• Applicants must be authorized to work full-time in the United States at the time of application.

• Employment eligibility verification is required upon hiring.

• Commitment to a 40-hour workweek, Monday through Friday, with no weekend shifts is essential.

• Proficiency with clinical technology, EHR systems, and telehealth tools is necessary.
