Nurse Practitioner – Non-Acute Care, Virtual Ambulatory

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Texas.

📋 Description

• Deliver diagnosis, treatment, consultation, and comprehensive patient care in both inpatient and outpatient environments.

• Promote and maintain patient health by conducting physical examinations, ordering tests, and prescribing medications as necessary.

• Educate patients on preventative care and prescribed treatments.

• Ensure timely care coordination for specific patient populations under the supervision of a physician.

• Facilitate care coordination among healthcare providers and engage in interprofessional rounds.

• Conduct health assessments, formulate care plans, initiate interventions, and assess outcomes.

• Execute invasive, diagnostic, or therapeutic procedures according to licensure and credentialed privileges.

• Spearhead quality, safety, outcome improvement, protocol development, and patient safety initiatives.

• Collaborate with interprofessional teams to manage patient care and address clinical and ethical issues.

• Act as a clinical resource, patient advocate, preceptor, consultant, and coach for colleagues and trainees.

• Incorporate current research into practice and engage in research, presentations, publications, and evidence-based activities.

• Support financial objectives by ensuring timely documentation, reducing length of stay, and enhancing efficiency.

• Complete and regularly update the My Development Plan while participating in career discussions.

⛳️ Requirements

• A Master’s degree or higher from an accredited Nursing program.

• Graduation from an accredited Nurse Practitioners program.

• A minimum of two years of clinical experience as a registered nurse, advanced practice nurse, or nurse practitioner.

• RN - Registered Nurse - Texas State Licensure; must secure a permanent Texas license within 60 days of establishing Texas residency.

• APRN Non-Acute Care state license.

• Non-Acute Care ANCC recognized certification.

• BLS - Basic Life Support or Instructor certification from the American Heart Association.

• AP - Prescriptive Authority from the Texas Board of Nursing and Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation.

• DEA - Narcotics License to be obtained within 6 months.

• Proficiency in speaking, reading, and writing in English.

• Skills in assessment, clinical practice, documentation, leadership, analysis, organization, problem-solving, time management, critical thinking, and clinical judgment.

• Capability to work independently as defined by the Nurse Practice Act.

• Willingness to travel within the Houston Metropolitan area as required.
