Nurse Consultant

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Iowa.

📋 Description

• Evaluate and analyze clinical information to assist in coverage decisions and care recommendations.

• Implement clinical guidelines, policies, and professional judgment throughout the care continuum.

• Partner with healthcare providers and teams to ensure quality patient outcomes.

• Discover opportunities for care management referrals and member support initiatives.

• Advocate for efficient healthcare utilization and quality enhancement efforts.

• Maintain a flexible work schedule, including evenings, weekends, and holidays, as part of a 24/7 operation.

• Operate from a designated home virtual workspace while ensuring HIPAA-compliant privacy and security.

• Manage multiple monitors and applications, digital communication platforms, VPN, and EHR systems.

• Resolve common technical issues and reach out to IT support when necessary.

⛳️ Requirements

• Active and unrestricted RN license in your state of residence.

• Minimum of 2 years of RN experience in an adult acute care or critical care environment.

• Excellent communication, multitasking, and computer navigation abilities.

• Willingness to work a flexible schedule, including evenings, weekends, and holidays as part of a 24/7 operation.

• Associate's Degree in Nursing is required.

• Preferred: 2+ years of Med-Surg or specialty clinical experience.

• Experience in Managed Care and/or Utilization Management is preferred.

• Candidates located in CST/MST/PST time zones are preferred.

• BSN degree is preferred.

• Must have a direct/hardwired internet connection to a modem/router within 7 feet of the computer.

• Required minimum internet speed of 25 Mbps download and 3 Mbps upload.

• Designated home virtual workspace must be quiet, secure, and compliant with CVS Health and HIPAA guidelines.

• Ability to work within the state and city where currently residing.

• Experience in setting up and utilizing multiple monitors and navigating various applications simultaneously.

• Proficient in communicating via email, calendar invitations, Teams messaging, and virtual meetings.

• Familiarity with Microsoft Office 365 applications or similar Google Workspace applications.

• Ability to log in to secure systems such as VPN and EHR portals.

• Competence in locking a computer screen when unattended, managing strong passwords, and identifying suspicious emails or links.

• Capability to independently resolve common technical issues.

• Willingness to learn new skills as the workplace evolves.
