
North America Sales Specialist – Specialty Chemicals

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Texas.
• Act as Yokogawa’s authority in the Specialty Chemicals sector, encompassing batch applications, polymerization, resins, coatings, adhesives, fine chemicals, and intermediates.
• Offer expert guidance and best practices regarding ISA-88, batch recipe management, quality consistency, flexibility, and operational excellence.
• Establish a personal network within the industry and represent Yokogawa at conferences, workshops, and technical forums.
• Recognize customer challenges and convert them into tailored Yokogawa solutions.
• Assist sales teams in identifying and qualifying opportunities in greenfield, brownfield, expansion, and MRO projects.
• Conduct discovery sessions with stakeholders from operations, engineering, process control, maintenance, IT/OT, and leadership.
• Create relationship management strategies for complex and strategic accounts.
• Foster and nurture customer relationships while addressing their needs effectively.
• Lead cross-functional teams to create customized product and service packages.
• Organize value demonstrations, workshops, and technical evaluations.
• Aid in opportunity strategy, solution framing, and commercial positioning for significant pursuits.
• Ensure pipeline accuracy and maintain account intelligence in Salesforce or relevant CRM.
• Supply market insights, competitive analysis, and system/process knowledge to global and regional teams.
• Collaborate with Business Marketing and Market Intelligence to develop segment campaigns, case studies, and value propositions.
• Contribute insights on segment priorities, competitive factors, digitalization trends, and changing batch requirements.
• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in a STEM field (Chemical Engineering is preferred).
• 6–10+ years of experience in Specialty Chemicals, batch processing, process control, or industrial automation.
• In-depth knowledge of batch processes, ISA-88, recipe management, and quality/repeatability issues.
• Proven experience in business development, customer engagement, or sales support within process industries.
• Capacity to interpret strategic objectives and translate them into actionable plans and measurable results.
• Skills in leading cross-functional teams and managing complex, multi-stakeholder interactions.
• Willingness to travel frequently throughout North America.
• Preferred experience with DCS/SIS, MES/batch systems, instrumentation, APC, historians, or digital/analytics solutions.
• Familiarity with North American chemical clusters is preferred.
• Strong understanding of key competitors and EPCs in the specialty chemicals field is preferred.
• Previous experience in a global organization with multi-site customer frameworks is preferred.
• Excellent communication, negotiation, and presentation abilities.
• Ability to influence without direct authority and collaborate effectively across various functions and cultures.
