This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in California, +2 more states.
• Elevate the Customer Engagement organization and lead the regional team to surpass organizational objectives.
• Formulate and execute the Regional Customer Engagement Strategy.
• Collaborate with partners in Marketing, Medical, Patient Services, and Market Access.
• Manage and communicate key performance indicators, address areas of underperformance, and replicate both regional and national successes.
• Build diverse teams through effective talent acquisition, development, and succession planning.
• Achieve regional sales targets and ensure team accountability through KPI oversight.
• Develop, implement, and supervise a regional business plan focused on customer needs.
• Enhance the customer experience and boost product demand among healthcare providers, key accounts, and Systems of Care.
• Contribute to the national leadership team by enhancing regional capabilities, business performance, team development, and organizational culture.
• Ensure that team activities adhere to the Novartis Code of Ethics, NPC Code of Ethics, and applicable policies.
• Advocate for regional budget allocation while optimizing strategic face-to-face and omnichannel resources.
• Support the development plans, growth, and performance improvement of the team.
• Utilize analytics platforms to inform decision-making and identify risks and opportunities.
• A Bachelor’s degree is required from an accredited 4-year college or university.
• Over 10 years of experience in various commercial sectors, including pharmaceutical, biotech, healthcare, or similar industries with large, geographically dispersed sales teams.
• A minimum of 5 years’ experience as a first-line sales manager.
• Proven track record of driving sales performance, leading cross-functional teams, and executing strategies in complex, multi-regional environments.
• Demonstrated ability to attract, develop, and retain diverse talent while building committed teams.
• Experience in developing and finalizing business and incentive plans in sophisticated sales settings.
• Strong operational skills, along with financial acumen, strategic insight, and analytical thinking.
• Candidates must reside within the region or be within a reasonable commuting distance to a metropolitan airport.
• Willingness to travel 60–80% across a wide geographic area, utilizing driving or flying as needed.
• Must possess a valid, unrestricted driver's license.
• Proven leadership experience as a second-line sales manager is preferred.
• Cross-functional experience in market access, reimbursement, or account management, with an understanding of payer landscapes, buy and bill, and specialty pharmacy is preferred.
• Must successfully complete initial training, which may include home study of up to 8 hours per day and up to 40 hours per week.
