Network Management Tools Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Virginia.

📋 Description

• Oversee and assist with network management tools within the environment.

• Implement new vendor updates and apply security/OS patches.

• Ensure that network tools are up-to-date and align with AFS security standards.

• Collaborate with AFS IT stakeholders to discuss network management tool reports.

• Define the scope and create or update design and architecture documentation.

• Address support tickets and make modifications through the change request process.

• Raise issues and concerns to management when necessary.

• Offer network engineer/administrator assistance in configuring and testing solutions.

• Carry out system maintenance, OS patching, and application releases on Linux appliance network tools.

• Execute quality assurance tests to ensure compliance with standards and requirements.

• Develop or transition operational processes and procedures for Operations teams.

⛳️ Requirements

• Must be a US Citizen residing in the United States (required).

• At least 3 years of expert-level experience in LAN technologies (switches, routers, wireless, and firewalls), including centralized monitoring and management in large-scale, high-availability settings.

• Minimum of 2 years of experience in IT infrastructure, TCP/IP, networking, and information system security principles, practices, and technologies.

• At least 3 years of experience with core Internet routing protocols and services.

• Minimum of 2 years of experience with Juniper SRX firewalls.

• At least 2 years of experience with Cisco FTD/Firepower.

• 1-2 years of experience with Palo Alto virtual firewall and Panorama Central Support solutions.

• 1 year of experience with Linux.

• Familiarity with Firemon, Algosec, or Tufin.

• Familiarity with Gluware, Solarwinds, or Ansible.

• Understanding of Regex.
